Story 
Set in Rayalaseema backdrop, Annagaru (Mohan Babu) is a respectable leader and people from the region follow his orders. He opposes Nandanavanam project as it is no benefit to seema people instead it demolishes few villages. Few powerful people who are adamant on the project sketches a plan to kill Anna. Besides this Anna has two sons Bhushan and Krishna (Vishnu Manchu), where the former is crooked while the latter follows his father. How Krishna takes on rivals forms rest.
Cast Performances 
It’s a cakewalk for Mohan Babu and he steals the show in the role of Annagaru. All credits to RGV for showing Mohan Babu in a natural, yet powerful role. Rowdy is one of Mohan Babu’s best performances. 
Vishnu Manchu’s role is distinct from what he regularly chooses and he delivers good performance including the action scenes. 
Shanvi has limited role and she does justice, Jayasudha us impressive in her natural way. Parachuri Gopala Krishna is neat, Tanikella Bharani is irritating. Kishore is okay. Others filled the screens. 
Analysis 
Rowdy is a known genre and a known story which has high references to Godfather series and RGV directed Sarkar and Sarkar Raj. But this time, Ram Gopal Varma has added the faction rayalaseema backdrop. 
Being the action backdrop thriller, Rowdy doesn’t provide entertainment or mass elements but the movie is an intense movie that moves at rapid pace with a run time of 161 minutes. Screenplay is racy but those who are familiar with Sarkar series might not feel the suspense elements. 
Mohan Babu steals the show with his natural acting and his style of dialogue delivery. Vishnu, Jayasudha lends their support to lead character. The interval episode is very appealing. While  Mohan Babu entertains in the first half, the second half isn’t gripping  and the climax is wrapped in hurry.
