Actors
Performances
Sharwanand is a talented actor and
after Run Raja Run, he once again shows his comic timing, funnier side and does
justice to the title role.
Surabhi appears in a glamorous
role, and she has performed well in what she was offered a limited one.
Saptagiri is the major asset for
Express Raja, he pulled off the role with his hilarious acts, Prabhas Seenu also does an excellent
job, Supreet comes as surprise in
toned-down role, and Harish is apt
for the role. Urvasi does a neat job
and Shakalaka Shankar joins the team
to provide comic relief. Others were adequate.
Technicians
Role
Praveen Lakkaraju’s musical scores are catchy while they are
colorfully pictured including Colourful Chilaka and Ulalala songs.
Cinematography is classy. Merlapaka Gandhi handled the direction
quite well and his narration is impressive.
Story has interesting aspects and the screenplay is racy.
Editing could have been better in second half.
Production values of UV creations are rich.
Analysis
Sharwanand is known for his versatile scripts, and Express Raja
is one such refreshing film interlaced with right commercial elements. Right from
the word go, the film goes on a racy mode with good number of twists and the
director doesn’t waste any much time for introducing characterizations. He
handles the multiple flashback scenes very well with a grip, and he deserves
applause.
Express Raja is packed with loads of fun and scenes featuring
Sapthagiri and Prabhas Seenu are major assets, and director has utilized his
casting to their full potential. The first half moves at rapid pace with
fun-filled scenes interlaced with comedy, and the interval bag is neatly woven.
The suspense element in the second hour is also handled well through the
subplots.
However, few scenes in the second hour could have been trimmed
to make the latter half racy as well. There are few logical loopholes to the
plot, giving an unrealistic feel at times.
Nevertheless, Express Raja has its fun-filled elements and
doesn’t disappoint. Agood watch with your family.
Finally
Express Raja- Enjoyable ride
