Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi Movie Review
After pairing up in Andala
Rakshasi, Naveen Chandra and Lavanya Tripati are back together in a quirky film
titled movie Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi, with the shortcut LOL. Jagadish Talasila
who earlier worked under SS Rajamouli is introduced as director with the film.
Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi has garnered enough attention with its promos and
title. Will the film manage to click at BO.
Storyline
The film kicks off with the rules
of Banking System and the unclaimed accounts’ in banks. Going to the plot, a
wicked criminal Mahesh (Ajay) plans to rob the unclaimed bank accounts and
traps Naveen (Naveen Chandra), who works in Janata Bank of India (JBI) to steal
unclaimed bank accounts data with the help of Devi (Lavanya Tripathi), his
colleague.
What will Naveen do now? Will he
and Devi manage to escape the trap and what happens to huge money forms the
story of LOL.
Performances
Naveen Chandra is a talented actor, but his characterization is not
well detailed. He doesn’t have much in the second half; any actor could have
done the simple role.
Lavanya Tripati hasn’t had much to perform in first half, but in
the second half she got a solid role but isn’t up to the mark. The roles are
hardly exciting.
Jayaprakash Reddy is perfect for the role and brings in some comic
relief with his singing and dancing acts.
Brahmaji hardly has a couple of scenes, while Ajay as antagonist does well. Bhadram
is okay and so is Melkote.
Sampoornesh Babu’s cameo is wasted. Others filled the screens.
Technicians Role
Cinematography by Eshwar
Yellumahanthi is noteworthy while musical scores by MM Keeravani were just
okay.
The BGM is decent enough while
the art direction is okay. Dialogues are adequate and editing misses the mark.
The plot and the story premise
looks good on paper, but it failed in scripting stages and the execution is as
bad.
Jagadish failed in making use of
his direction skills.
Production values of Mayukha
Creations are okay.
Analysis
Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi story
definitely looks promising and the film takes off an interesting start.
However, it’s the lackluster characterizations and script work that missed the
needed sparks in handling the subject. Crime comedies need witty and sharp
writing but LOL toatally suffered in writing department, and added to it the
execution is as bad.
The first hour has been pathetic
with illogical scenes and though the pre-interval block looked exciting, it was
only short-lived. We expect a bit more stuff in the second hour, but the
director has totally failed to live up to it with unnecessary threads. The
climax is lame and horrendous.
All in all, Lacchimdeviki O
Lekkundi is a disappointment with an interesting premise going totally wrong in
its execution. LOL could have easily been lot better had the team worked better
on its writing and execution.
Finally
Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi-
Potential Plot; Messed Up Execution
