Artists
Performances
Soggade Chinni Nayana is entirely Nagarjuna’s show, and as Bangarraju it’s a treat to watch him. He
has done a great job in both the different shade roles.
Ramya Krishna has terrific screen presence and she proves yet again
what a performer she is. She is an evergreen beauty and she is a delight to
watch.
Lavanya Tripati is pretty and performs quite well. She shares good
chemistry with
Nagarjuna and manages to leave her impact despite the
most experienced Nag and Ramya Krishna.
Vennela Kishore and Brahmaji
were good and others filled the screens.
Anushka’s special cameo enthralls audience with her glam show.
Technicians
Role
Anup Rubens musical scores are pleasing and are apt to
the theme of the movie. PS Vinod's Cinematography is pleasant and all the songs
are shot colorfully, especially the title song.
Dialogues are entertaining and suit the theme.
Story is good with socio-fantasy elements while
screenplay is entertaining. Editing is neat.
Director Kalyan Krishna does a neat job. Production
values are standard.
Analysis
Soggade Chinni Nayana story is not novel, but the way
screenplay is penned and executed with Telugu nativity flavor and entertaining
commercial elements combined with splendid performances worked in favor of the
film.
Debutante Kalyan Krishna maintained the curiosity and
intensity in the proceeding quite well packing with entertaining elements
instead of unnecessary emotional drama. The socio-fantasy elements worked well.
First half is passable with more of entertaining scenes
while it’s in the second hour the actual twist and the plot begins. Thus the
story looked rushed in the second half. Scenes between Nagarjuna and Ramya
Krishna are very enjoyable. Despite few slow scenes in the second hour and
predictable climax, Soggade Chinni Nayana is watchable and Kalyan Krishna
handled it well.
For those who like '90s era films and likes to watch
vintage Nagarjuna and a Telugu nativity movie, don’t miss Soggade Chinni Nayana
