Mahesh Babu denies Sukumar's period film

Mahesh Babu and Sukumar have decided to work together for the second time, and the script discussions are in progress. We hear that the 1 Nenokkadine director has narrated a period drama script set in 1940s backdrop for the Super Star and the latter has denied it.
Sukumar has worked on a storyline on Razakar's movement of Telangana and offered Mahesh a freedom fighter role, but Mahesh is not excited on doing a period film at this moment and rejected it. The actor doesn't wish to go for a complete makeover too, and there are couple of films including Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimhareddy and Young Rebel Star Prabhas' 20th venture based on period backdrops. The Super Star thought it would be monotonous doing another period entertainer.
So Sukumar is working on a new story currently and the movie is still in discussion phases. He'll wrap up Maharshi movie in the meantime.
