Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan Vouch For Artist and Animation Film Designer Dhimant Vyas
As an artist and animation film designer, Dhimant Vyas has had a long and eventful journey. Apart from organizing exhibitions independently and paving the way for several creative innovations, Dhimant has also collaborated with many luminaries from the Indian film industry on several reputed projects. When Dhimant designed the title animation sequence for superstar Aamir Khan’s debut directorial venture ‘Taare Zameen Par’, the perfectionist lauded him for his efforts and for creating something that not only appealed to children but captured the imagination of adults as well.
Appreciating Dhimant’s work, Aamir stated, “Dhimant is an extremely talented artist whom I got introduced to when he made the caricatures of the Lagaan characters and subsequently did the claymation for the title sequence of Taare Zameen Par. Both times, he blew my mind. I am a big fan of his work and look forward to his exhibition”.
Dhimant’s work has received appreciation from several other film personalities including the legendary Amitabh Bachchan who called his paintings “unique”. The exhibition, which is being conducted from December 26 to January 1 is being keenly looked forward to by the patrons of good art and those who have followed Dhimant’s work for years.
Talking about the exhibition, the maverick artist says, “What makes this exhibition special for me is the fact that my daughter Kavya Vyas, too, will be showcasing a lot of her work. Fishes have always resonated a feeling of harmony and inner peace in Kavya. Her paintings are a window to her exploration of the elusive meaning of life—themes of creation, love, beauty, endless journey, self-realisation—through the flow, forms, sizes, colours, and patterns of fishes. While my daughter grew up to be an artist like me, she has a distinctive style of her own that helps her stand out.”
While Dhimant has been a veteran, Kavya has managed to make a name for herself in a very short span of time as well. While two-time Grammy Award-winning composer Ricky Tej called Kavya’s art to be a “wonderful representation of underwater life and its beauty”, internationally acclaimed animation film director Joel Simon stated that the young artist’s paintings “display a delightful understanding of colour harmony and dynamic compositions”.
