Madhurima Tuli's Diwali Reflections: Balancing Tradition & Modernity

Actress Madhurima Tuli is one of the most humble and grounded actors in the country and well, her journey to the top has been quite incredible. Each and everything that she's earned for herself is a byproduct of her own hard work over the years and none the less, her fans are immensely proud of her. While she is a go-getter who always does her best to approach work, she also maintains a fine balance always between her professional front and celebrations. Talking about celebrations, everyone truly is in a festive mood now owing to Diwali and Madhurima too, is no different. The actress has always believed in being respectful towards her tradition and culture, but with a modern twist that's also simultaneously relevant to changing times.

On being asked more about how she maintains that balance during festivals like Diwali, she said and we quote,

"Well, balance is required for anything and everything in life. If you ask me, there's not too much to think or worry about. You just need to go with the flow and ensure you are having a nice time while keeping the traditions in mind. For example, Diwali has always been about aesthetic rangolis, diyas, and lights and hence, no matter how modern we become in our lives, the beauty of these traditional inputs will never go away. However, just like these things, crackers too have been an integral part of Diwali. However, with time and the understanding of its ill-effects on environment and animals, a lot of people including me have stopped using firecrackers for good. Instead, we either chill at home with friends and family or go out to party. That's the modern part of it which I feel every human being should be adaptable to if it is needed for the society. Also, earlier, Diwali was all about traditional sarees and Kurtis but now as far as fashion is concerned, there are also some wonderful indo-western outfit styles that aren't typically like the old kind of outfits. So, for me, this is the balance that I am talking about. We need to value our old traditions and customs and be respectful towards them but at the same time, we need to also look ahead towards the future and that's where a modern mindset comes into play. Wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali. May God bless everyone with the best."

Well, some really thought-provoking and sensible words there from Madhurima's end and she's certainly showing the way and leading from the front. On the work front, the actress has some interesting work developments happening at her end, the official announcements of which will take place soon as per the ideal timelines. Stay tuned for more updates.
